Question - How can I apply for a loan?
Answer - Members can apply for a loan by phone, online, or in person at a branch location. If you are applying for a loan online, simply go to go back to the CPM homepage and click on "Start a Loan Application", which is located directly on the left toolbar.
Question - How long is a pre approval good for?
Answer - Once a loan has been pre approved, members have thirty (30) days to take out a loan. If the member does not take out a loan within the 30-day time period, then they must complete another loan application.
Question - How do I get a copy of my credit report?
Answer - To obtain a copy of your credit report, contact the Credit Bureau Agency or visit their website for information regarding a free or paid copy of your credit report.
Question - How do I become a member?
Answer - In order to become a member you must meet the eligibility requirements. If you live, work or worship in the Charleston Area then you qualify for membership. However, if you are in the upstate or midlands area of South Carolina you must work for one of our member companies to qualify. Finally, if you are a member of the SC Fire Fighters Association then you will qualify for membership.
Question - Who do I contact about my past due account:
Answer - If you need information regarding your past due account you may contact our Call Center at 1-800-255-1513, or speak with a Financial Service Representative at a branch location.
Question - How do I collect the funds from a "Dormant Account"?
Answer - If you are looking to collect funds that are less than $50 please contact one of our Financial Service Representatives at a branch location or call the CPM Call Center at 1-800-255-1513 and they will be happy to assist you.
If you are looking to collect funds that are more than $50 please contact the Treasurer’s Office at (803) 737-4771 or go to http://payback.sc.gov/. Refunds take approximately six (6) weeks to be processed.
Question - Where do I go to make a Visa Payment?
Answer - To make a Visa payment you can go into a branch location, make a payment online through BillPayer, or by dialing 1-800-255-1513 and speaking with a Call Center agent.
Question - My Debit/ATM card is not working, what should I do?
Answer - If your Debit/ATM card is not working please contact the Call Center at 1-800-255-1513 or go into a branch location to speak with a Financial Service Representative.
Question - Where can I get a money order/cashier's check from?
Answer - We currently offer money orders at the following locations: St. Matthews and at both of our Orangeburg locations. Cashier's checks can be purchased at all branch locations.
